A Farmers Market Grows In The Bronx

The La Familia Verde Farmers Market:

Starting June 15th at Tremont Park in the Bronx

Every Tuesday 8:30 am- 2:00 pm

La Familia Verde is partnering with Just Food and Green Guerillas to organize a farmers market this season in Crotona. The farmers market will promote nutrition and healthier living by making fresh and organic fruits and vegetables available to community residents. We will be receiving most of the food from a local state farmer and will also contribute food grown in community gardens in the area.

There will also be an education component to the LFV farmers market. The LFV garden coalition, plans to invite health professionals, nutritionist and chefs to provide workshops for community residents.

*The LFV farmers market will be accepting food stamps, WIC, and senior coupons at the market stands.
